Field Striping
Teams listed in the chart are responsible for striping the fields on the indicated week. The equipment needed is in the storage box located behind the bench on Field 12 at Denoon Park. Your coach or team manager will provide you with the combination to the lock. If the lines are not done weekly, the games could be canceled by the referee.
Before starting to stripe, the cans of paint must be shook well for approximately 1-minute after you hear the metal ball inside the can start to rattle around. You may have to shake the can for 10-15 seconds before the ball begins to rattle.
Striping should be done when the grass is as dry as possible and as late in the week as possible, but before Saturday. When striping the fields, paint over all the existing lines slowly, including the kickoff circle, corner kick arcs, penalty kick arc, penalty spot, and kickoff spot. Simply follow the lines that are already painted on the field. Walk slowly behind the striper and keep the lines as straight as possible. When installing a can of spray paint in the striper, make sure that you are installing it with the spray nozzle going from side-to-side. If you install the can wrong you will only get a one-inch wide line, which is not acceptable. If you notice this remove the can and turn it one-quarter of a turn.
When you are done make sure everything is neatly stored and locked back in the box. Take inventory of how much paint is left and contact Mike if the paint supply is getting low. Do not discard empty spray cans in the storage box, throw them away in the park dumpster or take them home and dispose of them.
If you have any questions or when more paint is needed in the storage box, please contact Mike Rapp at (414) 507-9222 or e-mail at mrapp5@wi.rr.com.
Thank you for volunteering to perform this very important task. Without your help the games could not go on.
